Certified Dental Hygienists (DAs) are licensed oral health professionals who provide preventive dental services and oral care assessments. They work closely with dental assistants and dentists, but are primarily responsible for cleaning teeth and performing dental examinations.
Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride and sealants, and root planning
Complete an assessment of the patient’s teeth, bone and periodontal tissues and document any abnormalities or suspicious conditions
Personalize care to meet the patient’s oral health
Educate patients about good oral hygiene techniques
Help the dentist with procedures and emergencies, if necessary
Graduated from a registered dental hygiene school
License of dental hygienist licensed in the State of Ohio
Current CPR certification
1 to 2 years of experience in a dental practice preferably
Excellent interpersonal skills
